Ways we our up walls

...See more Anyone ever hear the phrase that someone is “putting walls up?” I never considered myself as someone who does this. But I have recently learned a way that I do. For me it starts with the belief that I cannot be accepted as myself so my wall is presenting people with me plus a role I can provide. For example to my friends I’m not just me. I’m their counselor, hero, helper, fill in the blank. If I don’t do this I am filled with awful fear. Any one else experience this? If so how did you face the fear of just presenting just you to others?
