...See more Once spoken with such conviction, your promises have exacted a heavy toll upon my heart, leaving me with an immeasurable sense of loss. The cost of your broken words has been more than mere disappointment; it has been a persistent ache that seeps into the depths of my soul. Yet, as I traverse the landscape of this pain, I am not without gain. Love, even in its most tumultuous form, has bestowed upon me invaluable treasures that I hold dear. Through the depths of my sorrow, love has shown me the boundless capacity of my own heart. It has opened doors to vulnerability, allowing me to confront my fears and embrace the fullness of my emotions. Love has gifted me with resilience, teaching me to rise above the ashes of shattered promises and emerge stronger than before. In the face of your unfulfilled assurances, I have learned the power of self-love. I have discovered that I am worthy of affection, devotion, and the promises I make to myself. Love has illuminated the path towards self-discovery, guiding me towards a deeper understanding of my own desires, dreams, and boundaries. Though the pain lingers, I find solace in the fact that I am healing from the wounds inflicted upon my heart. I choose to let go of the bitterness and resentment, allowing love to mend the broken pieces. It is through this healing process that I begin to realize that my love for you need not be extinguished, but it can transform. It becomes a love that recognizes the beauty within you, appreciates the moments we shared, and forgives the pain you caused. Yet, with this understanding, I also recognize that I no longer need you to complete me. Love has shown me that my worth and happiness are not dependent on external validation or the fulfillment of your promises. I stand tall and resolute, ready to embrace the love that flows from within me and the love that others willingly offer. So, as I navigate this journey of healing, I acknowledge the scars left by your broken promises, and I honour the love that once existed between us. But I also recognize that my capacity for love extends far beyond our connection. I am an individual capable of loving fiercely, of growing and thriving even in the absence of your presence. I am healing, and though I still carry love for you in my heart, I have come to realize that I no longer need you to define my existence or complete my happiness. Love, in its infinite abundance, surrounds me, reminding me that I am whole and worthy, regardless of your promises.

...See more Happiness is a state of well-being and contentment. It is a feeling of joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Happiness is often associated with positive emotions, such as love, gratitude, and hope. There are many different things that can contribute to happiness. Some of the most important factors include: * Good relationships: Strong and supportive relationships with family and friends are one of the most important sources of happiness. * Meaningful work: Having a job or career that you find meaningful and rewarding can also contribute to happiness. * Good health: Good physical and mental health are essential for happiness. * A sense of purpose: Having a sense of purpose in life can give you a sense of direction and meaning, which can lead to greater happiness. * Gratitude: Taking the time to appreciate the good things in your life can help you focus on the positive and boost your happiness levels. * Optimism: Having a positive outlook on life can help you see the good in every situation, which can lead to greater happiness. * Resilience: Being able to bounce back from setbacks and challenges can help you maintain a positive outlook and stay happy. Happiness is not something that happens to you; it is something that you create. By focusing on the things that are important to you and making choices that support your happiness, you can create a life that is full of joy and satisfaction. Here are some tips for increasing your happiness: * Spend time with loved ones: Make time for the people who matter most to you. Go out for coffee with a friend, have dinner with your family, or just spend some time talking on the phone. * Do something you enjoy: Make time for activities that you find enjoyable. Read a book, go for a walk, listen to music, or take a yoga class. * Give back to others: Helping others is a great way to feel good about yourself and make a difference in the world. Volunteer your time at a local soup kitchen, donate to a charity, or simply lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need. * Practice gratitude: Take some time each day to appreciate the good things in your life. Make a list of your blessings, or simply take a few minutes to think about all the things you are grateful for. * Be present: One of the best ways to increase your happiness is to be present in the moment. When you are doing something, give it your full attention and avoid worrying about the past or the future. * Learn to let go: Holding on to grudges, resentments, and other negative emotions can only make you unhappy. Learn to forgive yourself and others, and let go of the things that you cannot control. * Take care of yourself: Make sure you are getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and exercising regularly. Taking care of your physical and mental health will help you feel better and boost your happiness levels. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. It is something that you have to work at every day. But by following these tips, you can create a happier and more fulfilling life.
Relationships and Past Pains

...See more Moving on without healing from past experiences in relationships is a common phenomenon that occurs for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons is the pressure to conform to societal expectations that emphasize the importance of finding a new partner quickly after a breakup. People may feel compelled to start a new relationship without properly processing their emotions and experiences from the previous one. Additionally, some people may find it difficult to confront and deal with their emotional baggage from past relationships. This may be due to fear of vulnerability, lack of trust in others, or a belief that they should just "get over it" and move on. Another reason why people may move on without healing from past experiences in relationships is the desire to avoid the discomfort and pain of confronting their emotions. Revisiting past experiences and addressing unresolved emotions can be challenging and may require a significant amount of time and effort. Lastly, some people may simply not realize the importance of healing from past experiences before entering a new relationship. They may underestimate the impact of their past on their current relationships and not recognize the potential harm they could cause themselves and their partners. Overall, moving on without healing from past experiences in relationships is a common occurrence, but it is important to recognize the value of addressing past emotions and experiences to promote healthy relationships in the future.
Gratitude Is a Gateway to Positive Emotions

...See more Does expressing gratitude regularly seem flaky, fuzzy, or overly altruistic? [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/comfort-gratitude/202012/gratitude-is-gateway-positive-emotions#:~:text=If%20you%20practice%20gratitude%20regularly%20for%20at%20least,key%20neurotransmitters%20that%20give%20us%20feelings%20of%20contentment.] At the same time, do you feel stuck, upset, or like you’re constantly chasing joy and happiness [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/happiness]? Giving gratitude a chance could help you along your quest to better mood and health. The scientific research on gratitude shows that, when routinely practiced, feelings of gratefulness are accompanied by more positive emotions. Here are three ways that gratitude is a gateway to positive emotions: 1. Gratitude helps your brain process other positive emotions, including joy. If you practice gratitude regularly for at least two to eight weeks, it is likely you will experience increased positive emotions, including interest, excitement, joy, and pride [https://gratefulness.org/resource/expressing-gratitude/]. Gratitude increases dopamine and serotonin levels [https://theweek.com/articles/601157/neuroscience-reveals-4-rituals-that-make-happy] in the brain, which serve as key neurotransmitters that give us feelings of contentment [https://www.breakthroughealing.org/Documents/GratitudeStudy2003.pdf]. If we are grateful more often, the happiness-producing neural [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/neuroscience] pathways strengthen, just as exercise strengthens the body. The Greater Good Science Center at The University of California at Berkeley suggests [https://ggia.berkeley.edu/practice/gratitude_journal]gratitude journaling for 15 minutes, three times per week, for two weeks to see positive effects. Forbes magazine contributor Janet Miller suggests it takes eight weeks [https://www.forbes.com/sites/womensmedia/2016/07/08/8-ways-to-have-more-gratitude-every-day/?sh=aa16bb61d546]for brain patterns to shift and induce positive effects. Taking the first step towards your goal of feeling better and liking yourself begins with making gratitude a regular practice, in whatever method you enjoy. 2. Gratitude helps people savor positive experiences for a longer period of time. In a study [https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Hani_Samawi/publication/332715742_The_Impact_of_an_Integrated_Gratitude_Intervention_on_Positive_Affect_and_Coping_Resources/links/5cc86d92a6fdcc1d49bbbbb6/The-Impact-of-an-Integrated-Gratitude-Intervention-on-Positive-Affect-and-Coping-Resources.pdf]from the International Journal of Applied Positive Psychology, researchers discuss how gratitude “maintains positive emotions resulting from a positive experience.” Put differently, these researchers conclude that gratitude is able to “maintain elevated levels of positive emotions,” at least for the short term. Participants were asked to write about a recent achievement (i.e., their “positive experience”). Then a gratitude intervention was employed, asking participants to list factors for which they were grateful that contributed to their achievement for 15 minutes (i.e., the “gratitude intervention”). The study found that the gratitude intervention led to elevated positive emotions at a subsequent stage compared to those in the control group. This 2019 study suggests that by expressing gratitude for a positive experience, you are able to savor it. 3. Gratitude and joy feed off each other or, in other words, are symbiotic. A study [https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Philip_Watkins/publication/321917351_Joy_is_a_distinct_positive_emotion_Assessment_of_joy_and_relationship_to_gratitude_and_well-being/links/5a396441458515e60704a632/Joy-is-a-distinct-positive-emotion-Assessment-of-joy-and-relationship-to-gratitude-and-well-being.pdf]in The Journal of Positive Psychology found that gratitude and joy work hand in hand. Researchers conclude there is “an intriguing upward spiral between gratitude and joy: as one cultivates the disposition for gratitude, this increases the frequency of experiences of joy, which in turn should foster the disposition of joy, thus increasing gratitude.” While no specific gratitude intervention was used, and trait gratitude was measured here, the correlation between gratitude and joy is clear, revealing a symbiotic relationship that could be replicated in all of us. In sum, for those seeking to feel better—and feel better more often—gratitude might be the handiest tool in your toolbox. The upward spiral of positive emotions, including more prolonged states of positivity, is undoubtedly just one of the quite favorable effects of a regular gratitude practice.

...See more Positivity and gratitude are not just emotions or attitudes. They are ways of being in the world, of seeing the good in everything and everyone, of appreciating the gifts of life and the lessons of challenges. They are not naive or unrealistic. They are wise and courageous. They acknowledge the reality of suffering and injustice, but they do not let them define or limit their potential. They transcend the dualities of pain and pleasure, gain and loss, success and failure. They embrace the wholeness of existence, the interdependence of all beings, the mystery of creation. They are sources of strength, hope, and joy. They are expressions of love.
