...See more Im 19, and recently completed my first semester of college. Ive been battling emetophobia (phobia of vomiting and sickness)for almost 11 years now. Ive been to six or seven therapists, but they havent been much help, since I live in the Bible Belt and am not an avid believer in Christianity. I have not yet learned to cope with my anxiety by myself, so I guess thats my goal; apart from abolishing my anxiety as a whole, of course. Along with my anxiety, I have severe ADD and IBS-C (Irritative Bowel Syndrome with Constipation). Im sure you can see how being constipated and therefore, nauseous 99% of the time can be problematic for someone with my specific phobia. I am currently in the midst of an anxiety attack, which is a nightly occurrence, usually at about 3-3:30 am. It lasts until my boyfriend or my father coax me back into sleep. i had my anxiety under control for a while last year, but around August I began to decline again. I moved back in with my mother (which is a whole other story, if you catch my drift) and immediately I got worse. I dont have much choice in living situation, due to the fact that Im in college and not financially stable. I lost weight because I began starving and dehydrating myself again for fear of vomiting- and I dont know how to stop. I need help but I cant afford it. I need support. Does anyone understand?
