Hey! I’m Katie and I’m striving to make a career out of music. I’m a teacher of English, that’s for a degree. And all my life I’ve been struggling with different types of PTSD and depression. It gets better, that’s something I can say for sure. I’m still learning to be whatever I’m trying to make of myself and I believe that my experience and drive can help loads of people accept and understand themselves better.

...See more So, I’ve always struggled with ex-lovers of my partners, it has always been the most stressful thing in a relationship. When we got together, she was six months out of a five year long relationship where both of them, as she stated, were really abusive to each other. Plus, they had a lot of animals together and she cares about all of them deeply and they split them when they broke up. We’ve been together for almost 6 months now. And recently she was moving out of the apartment that they previously shared with her ex and she reached out to her to help her cover the damaged caused by their animals. And so they started talking. After a while she said that she wants her ex in her life because of everything they shared and she can’t just cut her off because they have been through so much together and she really loves the animals that are now at her exes’ because they used to be hers too. And I completely understand wanting to be on good terms with your past because I am the same. But what bothers me is that they are in touch and her exes’ sister babysits my partner’s dogs. Like, I get so devastated and furious. Am I the bad one for not wanting her ex to be apart of her life? How the hell do I handle these emotions of her not being satisfied with me? Because that’s how I feel when she brings her ex up.

Relationships advice, I guess?

...See more So, here’s the thing that’s been heavy on me these last weeks. My girlfriend of three months and I are polar opposites. She is and introvert and has an extremely hard time being around people, even her closest friends, she says that quarantine has been a blessing for her. People drain her from her energy in a matter of seconds. She has her own severe trauma and has a hard time opening up to people. More than than, she says she never does. I, on the other hand, can’t imagine myself being disconnected from people. I have BPD (I’m stating this, so you understand the severity) so to me these three months have felt more like a year, when for her it has felt way less. The point is, she recently said that everything is good in itself but she can’t help thinking that she’s way more comfortable being alone rather than with anyone else, and that includes me. I didn’t answer, because it felt like I’ve been stabbed and that it means it close to being over. So, I wanted to maybe get some advice if anyone has been in a similar situation or something. Does it really mean that nothing can work out or is it just a thing that we have to come around and learn to be comfortable with?
