Am I actually depressed?

...See more Hi guys,  So, I went to the doctor today (about switching my medication) and he was asking some questions that got me thinking, do I really have depression or do I just get sad easily? I'm not exactly sure what im looking for here, i guess just some validation maybe?  For me, it can be waking up and just being sad, but most of the time its something small happens or is said and then in my mind it blows up into giant sadness and just branches out into all kinds of other things that gets me down.  how does depression work for you guys?
