Advice anyone?

...See more Hi y'all!! I posted a long while ago about joining this community to learn more, so this is one of my questions I suppose!  I am personally not aligned with any religion, I believe in history and I believe in people. My boyfriend was raised Catholic and is Catholic. He isn't hardcore but he loves the traditional aspects and all of the music. We have had many discussions about the fact that I am not Catholic and what that would look like for us in the future. Obviously being Catholic, part of the tradition is to spread Catholicism, so I think he would like for me to convert eventually.  While I think Catholicism is beautiful, I was not raised in a way to facilitate putting a man, religion, or God at the centre of my life. I was raised to see every person as equal, to not assume religion, to explore, to learn, and to believe in other people. So, I find it kind of hard to think of myself as a woman of God in any sense of the term.  I recently expressed to him that I do feel connected with Mary though. I think she is wonderful, and I think if I did become Catholic she would be the woman I would hold highest, which I think is kind of the norm. Because I hold beauty dear to me, and I hold the mother dear to me, I am not against exploring this religion or converting later in life. But for now, I just want to live. Overall, I never want to be apart of something just because someone else is, or someone else wants me to. Does anyone have advice on how to navigate this? I don't want to come off as critical, but I am also not really a believer to the degree of an average person.  Thank you, sorry this was rambly ^,^//

...See more Hey everyone! My name is Rae or Four and I think I may have autism or audhd.  I've been on this forum for a while but I have had a hard time working up the courage to post anything.  I have lots of neurodivergent friends, mainly with ADHD (on various levels of the spectrum) and generally am more attracted to these people. I've always been close friends with people on the spectrum of autism or ADHD but it was never brought up in my case as a kid.  Now, these friends of mine have been suggesting for the past two years that I may have autism or something similar. I feel a little crazy talking about it, like those self-diagnosed people who have nothing to back it up but I really think my friends are right.  The more I think about it and research it, I identify with the label "autism" more. I made a list of the things I and others notice the most: - As a kid I did "dino arms"  - As a kid I jumped around a lot, liked overly tight hugs, and loved spinning - I've never had trouble with socializing but I have been bullied and had trouble understanding what made someone like/dislike me or recognising whether they like/dislike me - I do a lot of "stimming" according to my friends, like tapping, repeating words a lot (especially names I like), jumping up and down, "wagging", scratching or "scritching", humming, etc. - I have food sensetivites like foods touching or contrasting textures, I used to have a lot more but have gotten used to it over time. I recently have been told to start keeping a log of things like this that I really notice each day. Today I was with friends and my voice went monotone a lot, I bounced around the conversation but it still went well, I had to overthink certain things but I also didn't think before I spoke, and I jumped up and down in the pool in a floatie (I like the way it feels and then I noticed it may be "stimming"). Idk, I will be talking to my supportive friends more tho.  Thank you!! Sorry this was so long. Any advice? Tips? Tricks? (I just learned what body doubling is from this forum & it works so well for me, thank you guys.) I recently realised what I identified as "anxiety attacks" may be more than that, and are actually meltdowns. How do I tell? Sending hugs if you'd like them <3 -4rae

My feelings of being unaccomplished

...See more I often feel like a bad person, when I don't finish a task, when I turn something in late, when I myself am late, when I forget something, when I'm not prepared, when I'm a bad friend, when I'm a mediocre partner, when I don't follow social cues, when I eat way too much.  But I try to take a minute and recognise all I am doing now. Even though sometimes I feel upset that I "used to do so much more" I realise the people around me, the friends I have, and how they feel. I try not to compare my schedule to others' anymore, and by doing this I've realised I want a break.  Sometimes a break is too hard to get, so I just have to wait. What needs to be done, needs to be done. Subsequently, I need to push through it, no matter how much of "it" I accomplish. Keep going, keep feeling <3

...See more My bones are weary My eyes ache For this I blame my business For this I blame my wake But in the end it is my fault But in the end I did not talk Sorry my dear if I don't look Into your eyes or into My nooks and crannies Of my sour brain They say I have a way with words I say it's 'cause I haven't seen worse They say I have pretty light hair I say I wish I wasn't from there They say I sing loud and true I say that it's quiet, hope not for you.

Procrastination

...See more As a student, as a person really, I procrastinate a lot. I procrastinate about doing assignments, cleaning my room, responding to people, having hard conversations, deadlines of any kind basically. It's gotten so debilitating and I feel like I'm broken. Every time I do a method that is meant to help, I just feel worse off. Maybe I'm just checked out since it's almost the end of the school year. But maybe I'm a record snapped in two.  If anyone is dealing with something similar I'd love to talk about it. I'm told all the time that I'm making a big deal out of nothing or that I just need to "sit down and do it" and I feel useless for not being able to, or at least not efficiently being able to.  Lots of love, goodnight 7Cups!! -Lonely4flower

...See more Hi! I am Rae/Flower, and I am not religious. I was raised agnostic, my father was raised without religion and my mother was raised Christian with her father as a preacher. I have a very complicated relationship with faith. I am here to learn more, ask questions, and answer questions! I'm very scholarly and over time have found more interest in theology. You are all very loved, best wishes to everyone. Also, my boyfriend is Catholic. He loves Catholic music and he loves the Lord. I love my man of God and also want to join him in a way by learning more or at least appreciating more.  Love and blessings, -Lonely4flower
