...See more I hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Sunday and preparing for the week ahead. It is time for us to take a look at our very first Hosting Hero!  To announce our very first Hero Host, it seems perfectly fitting that we begin with highlighting and recognising one of our most dedicated facilitators who has offered their time, patience and kindness since Nov 2022 with an amazing log of 290 sessions!   It came as no surprise to me that CalmRosebud received many nominations in our first week of launching our new Hero Hosts. Many Sharing Circle Members, Listeners and hosts look up to you and appreciate all that you do. During your sessions, you are always seen giving your time and compassion to support members and ensure the smooth running of the room. You are always welcoming and friendly and provide everyone with a fair opportunity to join the queue and let their voice be heard. You have always pushed yourself to be the best host you can be and your latest post examining the therapeutic benefits of group support and Sharing Circles has been deeply insightful.   Above all, Rose lets her brilliant sense of humour and amazing personality shine through week in, week out and always stays down to Earth. Her passion and enthusiasm for Sharing Circles continues to burn bright. Introducing Hero Hosts!

...See more We are very excited to announce our brand new Hero Hosts scheme! We want to celebrate our brilliant facilitators that volunteer their time to host Sharing Circle sessions to allow members to have a safe space to vent and share.  Is there a host that always gives kind and thoughtful responses?  Or does a great job of keeping an orderly queue?  Or is always friendly and supportive to everyone? Did someone new step up to facilitate a session? Is there someone who has been a brilliant and consistent host? You can nominate them to be a Hero Host!   Who can be nominated?  Any host that hosts a full session, from newbies, to wise ones, to community moderators.  One nomination per host per week. When?  Nominations will always be open. ...See more Sharing Circle is a 24/7 room, which means a lot of effort goes into keeping it running smoothly and we always need more hands on deck! We have a variety of roles for you to get involved with, whether you like to visit Sharing Circle a couple of times a month or every day. On-Spot Host On-Spot Host is the most flexible Sharing Circle role. Our On-Spot Hosts visit the room, and if there is no host on the schedule for that time they step in to host the session. There are plenty of opportunities to jump in and help out! This role is open to listeners and members who have attended at least 5 hosted Sharing Circles. To host a session, please fill out our quick Training Guide [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd0bw83-uAeKvqpvO4aKVuEH3ILVtEd7HXUMBrq4KBdrWWf1w/viewform] which takes you through all the hosting essentials! Assigned Host An assigned host signs up for one or more weekly sessions. Regular hosting will allow you to develop your skills as a host and create a supportive environment for participants. Our regular hosts give our members continuity and familiarity and after hosting regularly and showing lasting commitment, you will be awarded a Community Leader badge! We understand that commitment can be difficult to work around your offline time but we can make it as flexible as needed. We will provide training, support and check-ins This role is open to listeners and members. When I was in distress and was looking for a listener in a community room, Lou73, offered her helping ears to me. She listened to all of my issues patiently and actively, understood it without any judgements & gave lots of empathy , compassion and good suggestions.
