...See more Welcome Committee - Listeners Hey everyone! I hope you are doing well!  I'm happy to share that the Welcome Committee - Listeners is being officially launched! Mission Starting out on 7 Cups as a new listener can feel overwhelming. From accepting your first chat to exploring different rooms and learning resources, there is a lot to do and see! That's why the Welcome Committee will be here to support new listeners through this journey. Our goal is to help new listeners feel confident using the platform within their first month and to reduce confusion around features, expectations, and where to find help. How does it work? Team members will reach out to new listeners to welcome them and ask if they have any questions, following up a few days after the initial contact. We may not be able to reach out to all new listeners, so if we missed you, feel free to contact a team member directly or reach out to a mentor [https://www.7cups.com/listener/training/mentors/]. How can I join? We would love to have you on the team! The requirements are the following: * Verified listener * 100+ chats completed * 4.5-star rating or above * At least 5 reviews * Listener level: Apprentice or higher (6,881+ cheers) Team members have a quota of 20 initial outreaches and 20 follow-ups per month. If you meet the requirements, feel free to read the guide [https://tinyurl.com/7CupsWCL-TeamPMguide] to get an idea of how it works and apply here [https://tinyurl.com/WCLApplicationForm]! If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this post or message me! Thank you to @AnnaSilverberg and @Heather225 for the idea and support!

Essential 7 Cups Guides: The Basics & Listener Quick Guide!
by Heather225

...See more Hi everyone! 👋 I wanted to share two fundamentally helpful guides with the community. Whether you're brand new to 7 Cups, a returning member, or a dedicated Listener, these documents are fantastic resources to help you navigate the platform and understand the support available here. Here is a brief intro to what you'll find in both: 7 Cups The Basics: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M53Nm5-pbtxx2_jKfXYgYzo3NgXxjNfMwfzVSRC1rZg/edit?tab=t.0]This is the perfect starting point for anyone using the platform. It covers everything 7 Cups has to offer, from connecting with volunteer listeners and licensed therapists to navigating our community forums, group chats, and self-help tools. It also gives you a step-by-step on how to connect with these resources and outlines our community safety guidelines. 7 Cups Listener Quick Guide: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J0P_a463RsOkBFmgE4hqMUPCyqD98MCZO_r8PAb4ERs/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.6zoipvarg5nu]  [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J0P_a463RsOkBFmgE4hqMUPCyqD98MCZO_r8PAb4ERs/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.6zoipvarg5nu]wonderful volunteer Listeners! It serves as a quick manual on your role—focusing on active listening, empathy, and validation, while reminding us of important rules like not giving advice or handling crises. It includes helpful tips for starting and ending chats, setting healthy boundaries, and practicing self-care. A quick favor to ask of our regulars: Please bookmark these guides and share them with new people you see across the community. Much of 7 Cups is word of mouth, so I'd appreciate your help spreading this knowledge! Thank you all for looking out for one another! 💙

Scared of reaching out

...See more I am scared to reach out to people for help. There are so many things on my mind, but I don't even know who to talk to about them. It feels so overwhelming, but the moment I decide to talk it out, it starts feeling like it's not even a big deal, like my problem isn't something worth worrying this much about. But then it keeps eating me up inside. The reason I installed this app was because I wanted someone to talk to. But even now, I find it hard to reach out to someone. I feel scared whenever I think about doing it.

🌿✨ Healing Isn't Linear ✨🌿

...See more Hello everyone, and welcome to Newbie Hub. 💚 Healing is a word we hear often in mental health spaces, but what does it really mean? Many people imagine healing as reaching a destination a place where the pain disappears, the difficult days end, and everything feels okay again. But in reality, healing is often much more complex than that. It can look like taking things one day at a time. It can look like learning healthier ways to cope, setting boundaries, asking for help, or simply choosing to keep going when things feel heavy. Healing doesn't mean you've never struggled. It doesn't mean you're always happy. And it certainly doesn't mean you've failed when difficult emotions resurface. Sometimes healing is found in the small moments in giving yourself grace, acknowledging your feelings, and allowing yourself to be honest about where you are. One of the most important parts of healing is openness. When we hide our struggles, we often carry them alone. While vulnerability can feel scary, there is strength in being honest with ourselves and others about what we're going through. We don't have to pretend we're okay all the time. We deserve spaces where we can be seen, heard, and supported. No matter where you are in your journey, please know that your healing does not need to look like anyone else's. Your progress is still progress, even if it feels small. 💭 Discussion Question: What is one thing you feel would help you heal right now? It could be support, understanding, rest, forgiveness, hope, connection, time, or something entirely different. Feel free to share as much or as little as you'd like. Let's create a space where we can reflect, support one another, and remind each other that healing is possible even when the path feels uncertain. 🌱💙

...See more I worked incredibly hard throughout my student years to build my skills and gain real-world experience. However, coming from a small town, there are very few companies here, and most opportunities require relocation instead of offering remote work. Unfortunately, relocating isn't an option for me because I'm the primary caregiver for a family member, and they cannot move with me. I also can't leave them alone, as I'm the sole provider for my family. Recently, I received a great job offer with an excellent salary, but I had to turn it down simply because it required relocation. It was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make. Right now, I honestly feel hopeless. I don't know how I'm supposed to build my career when the opportunities I deserve are out of reach due to circumstances beyond my control.
