Born in the land of the Incas, I immigrated to North America in my youth.
After college, I started my career in 1980 in telecommunication with the military where I met my wife of Irish ancestry. We started dating a year later and we have been together ever since.
Wanting to pursue Search & Rescue after the military, I got trained as a firefighter, parachutist, scuba diver and pilot.
During a family vacation, an unexpected last-minute change of plans avoided me and my pregnant wife at the time from taking a helicopter trip with a family member that ended up tragically crashing and killing all onboard.
Realizing that there may be another purpose in my life, I decided to become the best parent possible by learning how to inspire human nature.
In my own journey into the heart of darkness, I found light on my own after a disappointing experience when at the lowest in my life I went to see a priest for help. After expressing that I was at rock bottom and not knowing where to turn, the priest looked at his watch and said, “I don’t have time right now”.
With those words ringing in my ears, I turned inwards for strength and started learning by reading books on Spiritual matters, Self-Help and how to motivate and empower yourself for constant growth.
I am a believer that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear, not always in the shape or a person but as in my experience sometimes from one book pointing to another.
This is a philosophy I have applied in my leadership roles in my professional life and continue to constantly educate myself to learn how to empower and motivate my teams to strive to become better people by teaching through example. My objective was not only to become a better leader but most importantly a better Dad.
I enjoy building and assembling models and still reads comics at my age.
I play guitar and am a practitioner of Kriya Yoga, Iaido, Reiki and an amateur astronomer.
