Does anybody else experience misophonia?

...See more Misophonia is a condition where common repetitive sounds trigger an extreme response, usually rage, anxiety, or disgust. Examples of this could be sounds people make while they are eating, the clinking of silverware, pens clicking, the sound of animals, licking or things like people tapping their fingers on desks for example. For me, the sound of animals licking their paws, themselves, or other people drives me absolutely insane. It immediately triggers the most intense feeling of rage, and once I tune into it, I cannot hear it until it stops. Somebody else experienced this? If so, how do you manage it? I use headphones a lot, but it’s not always possible and I wished I could manage it other ways.

...See more Unfortunately, NaNoWriMo is no longer a thing, but ProWritingAid has a similar challenge running for November called Nov Nov (strange name). Is anyone else here trying it out? The challenge is 50k words in November, I’m using it to write my romantasy, Fire Fall.

Does anyone else listen to music all day?

...See more I use music to focus my mind and calm the chaos, but I use it heavily. As in, I get up, put in an earbud, and start up Spotify, which runs the rest of the day. At night, I fall asleep to podcasts (usually horror) using my sleep headband and then repeat the next day. I will take breaks. Sometimes, I can’t quite settle on what to listen to, but most of the time, I have at least one earbud at home, so I can still engage with the household. If I’m going into a store, both buds go in automatically as the noise and madness of grocery stores spikes my anxiety and works as a sensory overload. Is this normalish?
