Does anybody else experience misophonia?
Misophonia is a condition where common repetitive sounds trigger an extreme response, usually rage, anxiety, or disgust. Examples of this could be sounds people make while they are eating, the clinking of silverware, pens clicking, the sound of animals, licking or things like people tapping their fingers on desks for example.
For me, the sound of animals licking their paws, themselves, or other people drives me absolutely insane. It immediately triggers the most intense feeling of rage, and once I tune into it, I cannot hear it until it stops. Somebody else experienced this? If so, how do you manage it? I use headphones a lot, but it’s not always possible and I wished I could manage it other ways.

Me.
I cannot stand the sound of excessive chewing.
I find myself, listening to music whilst eating , to block everyone else out.
It's very irritating and people who don't struggle with it, don't understand how much of a nuisance it can be.
I'm sorry you are going through it 💚

I’m so glad you’ve posted this . Yes there is a particular noise that a family member makes it always causes disgust, distress and anger .
When it happens I have to leave the room or turn music on to drown out my feelings and the sound.
I would like to add a point from personal experience.
So this is a feeling I also have but it depends on somethings. Like the person who is chewing if you already hate that person or not. And sometimes it's about stress and less sleep also. What makes me annoying sometimes during exams where I pull all nighters makes me laugh on some other day when there is no exam and I am not sleep deprived.
