...See more My partner of 6 years gave me this ultimatum about 6 months ago. She has been in therapy for 2 years, which is about the same amount of time that we have not been intimate. I came here because therapy is expensive, and frankly all the therapy sessions she has done just seem to make her angrier at me and put more blame on me for all the relationship problems. It may be too little too late, because I finally am losing any sense of being a partner with her. All I see is a roommate now. A roommate who throws leaves garbage all over the kitchen counter, throws dirty clothes wherever she feels like leaving them, leaves dirty dishes on the table when she's done eating, and doesn't pay her full share of rent most months. The latest development with her therapist was the solution to the problem was that I should just clean up after her, because that's what loving couples do. This was shocking to me, but I actually gave it a try. What resulted was she started being rude to me for no reason, and when I brought that up, it led to a conversation about how she has crushes on other guys on the internet. This same thing happened pre-ultimatum. So, I just can't get on board with cleaning up after someone and covering their rent, when the relationship doesn't seem loving anymore. I guess my question is, how bad is it going to be to spend the 6 months remaining in our lease, now that I'm pretty much giving up on the relationship?
