Can depression be linked to spousal abuse?

...See more Hello All, I am new to posting on a message board about things like this. Sadly I do not have very many friends to turn to about something like this. I am wondering if anyone knows or have experience with this kind of situation or if it is normal for men to show depression as anger. I have been told to try going to groups for spouses but sadly that is not an option as he watches everything I do like a hawk and if there is any clue of something like this I am not sure what he will do. (No physical violence I can say that. Only verbal) (ó﹏ò｡)
