Lack of sex intimacy
Relationship Stress / by NoSignal90

...See more I've been with my partner 8 months. Over half of this time has basically been sexless, averaging maybe once a month. This has been eating me alive. So I'll try my best to break things down into parts. I'm dyslexic, so bare with me. I have communicated with my partner about our intimacy, multiple times. Nothing seems to change. He has also been going through his own things. Work stress, significant weight gain, self image issues and general not feeling great. I completely understand these things, but when I ask him if these are the causes for the lack of intimacy, he denies them as the issues. He never really has much of a answer besides "bad timing". This lack has caused significant harm to my mental health. I'm depressed, irritable, feeling worthless, low, ugly and lonely. But the worst is I can not get this issue out of my head. I am constantly thinking about it. To the point it's affecting my sleep in a serious way. I am aware I should not hold sex so highly that it effects my self worth and well being, but I'm struggling with making that sentiment click in my head. I don't want to break up over this if at all possible. I just do not know what to do. It's getting to the point that no matter what the does, it just bounces off me because I can't get my mind off the fact this one need is not being fulfilled. So not only is the lack of sex hurting our relationship, but how I am reacting to this lack. I just want my brain to stop being so loud about this, so that I can have some peace and enjoy all the other things our relationship provides. I need to talk to someone
