...See more POV you’re trying to get better, you are trying to be nice to yourself, it starts working, you feel better, you’re smiling, you’re happy, you’re living how you want, you feel good, you feel beautiful… then you go home and it all falls apart within a weekend, and that’s when you realize, the people out there were a problem but not so big, the problem was with the people inside; the people who promised to love you, the people who said they’d love you unconditionally, the people who call you family… it was always your family that was the problem

What do I do?

...See more So I’m female and live in a house with just men (my dad and brother), I feel like they don’t understand anything I’m going through. My dad is a radical conservative and so is my brother, but my brother also believes in the “old ways”, girls shouldn’t have rights kinda bs. I have been asking them to make me a schedule of dinner to make, I don’t mind cooking since no one else in my house wants to do it, but it’s hard to come up with a decision myself because I have school and rehearsals almost every day, and I haven’t been super into food lately. When I gave them something to write down dinner for each week, they got mad and told me it wasn’t easy for them. I feel like I’m never getting a break because it’s expected of me to just cook and have stuff figured out. I asked if my dad could start helping me by cooking some days to alleviate some of the stress on me, and he got mad saying it’s not easy for him because he doesn’t have the drive to do it anymore. Mind you, he’s retired and my brother is unemployed and an adult, he’s also not in college or vocational, or any education at all. I don’t understand why everything has to be pinned on me, like why can they have bad days but I can’t? Why does their “work” matter more than mine?

...See more I finally took the leap; I blocked those people. The people who have been a constant negative outlet. The people who never cared about me. The people who only brought me down. I did it. And now I can breathe again

Perfectionism

...See more Does anyone else feel like they have to shine brighter than their mind will allow them to? I feel because I’ve always been naturally good at getting good grades I have to uphold that through high school. I hate every piece of it because I feel like past that I have no idea who I am. Now I think if I’m not number one I’m nobody. Why does anxious perfectionism feel like being swallowed by an ocean and you don’t know how to swim?
