Easier to do nothing than to do something
Depression Support / by Pandasandkittens

...See more My depression is ruining my life. It's so much easier to do nothing than to do something that even the threat of the end of my marriage and being set back in life to square one is not enough motivation to do something. What am I supposed to do?

Stuck in a vicious cycle
Relationship Stress / by Pandasandkittens

...See more I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for 10+ years and it's been putting a strain on my relationship of 12 years. Actually, our relationship has been strained for much longer than it has been good. It's a vicious cycle. I'm depressed. Which strains our relationship. Which makes him depressed. We fight a lot. I feel stuck and more depressed and have no motivation to do anything about it. A lot of life factors just got thrown in to the mix to make things worse. We just moved from a big city to a small town an hour and a half away for his work. I miss pretty much everything about home. I hate my job. I went back to school for 2 years to upgade my training to be a paramedic. I was looking forward to my career. I liked what I was doing in the city as an EMT and was hoping to do more as a paramedic. My career isn't at all what I was hoping it would be out here in a small town. I don't get to work much because my husband doesn't want me to. It takes me away from home for 24 hours/ shift. But I don't want to be a house wife. He reminds me all the time that I do nothing at home and so I have no excuse to not make any changes in my life. It's true I have no motivation. I'm stuck in a rut. My marriage has been horrible for so long but I don't do anything to fix it. He tells me if nothing changes we're done. But I never change. Am I subconsciously trying to sabotage us? Or have i decided that am I so deep in a hole that there's no point in trying to get out.
