...See more How would you interrupt the person you are with telling you marriage is the goal, but not the main goal. And that it will happen (proposal, marriage) so why cant knowing that be enough? Weve been together 7 years, have a child and live together. Everyone tells me if Im happy, which I am, to just let it be.

...See more Whenever I open up to my bf about something that bothers me he often shuts down or just stares at me without responding. He will then say what do you want me to say. Tonight we were talking about how I wish he would be more affectionate at times. He quickly got an attitude and said I'm done talking to you. Turned around and started to go to sleep. I didn't think what we were talking about needed a reaction like that so I told him let's make up because I don't want to go to bed mad. And he said well then don't go to bed. He then went to sleep. How can I get him to see this is an unhealthy way for him to act towards me? It's very hurtful. We are grown adults with a child. In a relationship for 7 years now. Living together for 3.

...See more Ive been with my bf almost 7 years. He is amazing. We have a child together. In the beginning he was the most sensitive, romantic man I had ever met. I thought I was in a fairytale. Then his mom passed. Its been almost 3 years. We had moved in together just before that, so we have been leaving together almost 3 years. After his mom died its almost like he has lost all empathy and sensitivity. Two qualities I really had loved about him. I know its because he is hurting over his loss. And I know there is no time limit on grief. However before I moved in he ALWAYS talked marriage. Then after she passed that talk stopped. He said he was broken and could not imagine a wedding without her there. He asked me to be patient wirh him because he still wanted to marry me but just needed time to heal. Since that time we had our child. She was planned. She is under a year old. He is still romantic and constiantly plans and talks of our future. However he still does not mention marriage. We talk here and there about it but only because I bring it up. He says again the same thing. That he does want to marry me but needs time. I am struggling wirh this. Ive been his rock and always here for him for almost 7 years. I even was his only real support when mom was sick and in making her funeral arrangements. I help out now with his dad. Ive had his child. Why cant I at least get a proposal? I love our life but I struggle mentally everyday with him not at least proposing.
