I’m just a girl trying to juggle Anorexia, OCD, and breakup recovery through art and talking because I’ve isolated for so long.

What do I do if I Can’t Get Over Him?
Relationship Stress / by RichardMask

...See more I met a wonderful man in June of 2019, who seemed like a blessing after I’d escaped from a previously abusive relationship. We talked for so long the first time we met, it felt like we’d been friends for a decade. I thought of him as a best friend at first, but the more I talked to him, the less I could deny my blossoming feelings. He confessed to having feelings for me first and we hit it off from there. We lasted from June 2019 to about February 2020. He decided to end it, and I was not ready. I wasn’t done loving him. He was very kind about it, and we drifted apart afterwards. I cut all contact with him as soon as we drifted because I knew I couldn’t hang around him without feeling absolutely heartbroken. I didn’t let myself properly mourn. I didn’t wanna cry, I didn’t wanna face the pain. I lied to myself saying I was okay. That I’d be over it soon. Recently through feed recommendations on social media I saw he has a new girlfriend. It opened all my wounds. But I still couldn’t mourn. I realized I’d never gotten over him. I still look for his face in strangers who I find attractive, I still hear his voice in conversations I have. Every time I try to find myself, I find him. I don’t know what to do. I still ‘love’ him. And the worst part is there’s no one I wanna talk to about losing him except him. He was my best friend too, and I just want to talk to him whether it’s for a lifetime or an hour. How can I move on?
