Too much or no?

...See more So a couple months ago I met this guy in a class. We hit it off and went out a couple times and from my perspective we really liked each other. Then he decided I was too young and that we shouldn’t go out anymore. We’ve remained goodish friends since then but we aren’t as close anymore. Tomorrow is his birthday and I was going to give him a card and write in it “Thank you for being such a good class partner and an even better friend. I’m so happy I got the chance to get to know you” Is this too much? I still have feelings for him so i try and be aware of that so as not to make him uncomfortable. But i also don’t wonder if he still likes me? Or if it’s just wishful thinking on my behalf. Would reading this making him upset or anything, because I don’t want that to happen. Thoughts?
