...See more I had a 3 and a half year affair, my spouse found out. After lots of yelling, talking, and crying, we have decided to work on our marriage. My spouse has passed the anger stage, and has now mostly come to terms of what had happened. However, my spouse has trouble moving forward, my spouse has said the only thing blocking from moving forward is the constant thought of the duration of the affair. All of the other details has been moved past from, just the duration is giving much trouble and blocking from moving on. I have reassured, made permanent changes in my behavior, in counseling, and anything else that will help my spouse see the changes I have been making However, the traumatic thought of the duration of the affair still lingers heavily in my spouse’s mind. Does any one have any suggestions of what I can do to help, other than lots of patience and reassurance?
