...See more Hello everyone, I am epileptic and was previously taking the medication Keppra. After the past 2 months on it I realized I had to get off immediately. The irritation and rage that it caused was unbearable. I am normally a very patient people pleaser and to become so hostile towards everyone around me was very jarring. I hated what it made me. After a couple of appointments I was able to switch to a new medication Zonegran. This is only my 3rd night taking it, I thankfully feel emotionally back to my normal self however I have not been able to sleep. On Monday night I did not go to bed until 4am, Tuesday I did not sleep at all I stayed up all night and was finally able to pass out at 11am until I was woken at 4pm. It is now Wednesday and I am wide awake typing this at 12:30am. I can feel the burning of my eyes yet every time I lay down I’m just laying there for hours. I’m really struggling with the insomnia. I’ve only been in the medication for 3 days and I am slowly going to have to work up the dosage. Is this something I should bring up to my doctor so soon? I’m not even near the dosage I’m supposed to be in yet.

...See more As of 2024 I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy, it’s hard to get jobs due to not being able to drive unless I am seizure free for 6 months to a year. Financially I am struggling. Being 20 and still living with my parents feels trapping however living on my own would be dangerous. My most recent seizure last month was grand mal and I was foaming at the mouth. My job at the time (Mcdonalds) had to call an ambulance. I am unsure if I will have to foot the bill and I’m stressing with 150$ left over in my account. I had a nasal spray that stops seizures however they called an ambulance instead of using it. I feel useless without a job and I feel like I’m not contributing enough at home. I try.
