Can I see 2 therapists?
Bipolar, Schizophrenia & Psychosis Support / by Sarah32100

...See more i was wondering if anybody has ever seen 2 therapists at once. I like my current therapist, who is great with anxiety tools and maintaining stability. However, while she was on vacation she arranged for me to see another therapist in her absence, who was great with helping me connect with my emotions and other people, and was very motivating and encouraging. I dont think my regular therapist would be ok with me seeing 2 therapists at once (because of comments she has made), but I really feel torn because I feel I connected with them in different ways and want to learn both skills. Im not sure who to discuss this with for advice because it would be awkward to bring it up in therapy, so I thought Id post here! Im in the U.S. btw, it may be different here than other places. Its not a problem with my insurance to see 2 therapists, just tricky for my therapist I think. I dont know if this is ever done in the U.S.Im going through a really stressful time right now anyway, so it would be nice to have both perspectives, but I dont want to step on any toes. Any tips?

How to deal with loneliness?
Bipolar, Schizophrenia & Psychosis Support / by Sarah32100

...See more Hi, Im new to 7 cups! This isnt really related to my bipolar but I wasnt sure where to post this. Im having a lot of trouble adjusting to the fact that my roommate, who is also a close friend, spending all her time now with her boyfriend. The more serious they get, the less time she is able to spend with me. I really miss her, and also its hard to continually be single as I get older and watch my friends pair off. I would really like someone to go through life with, but I think its going to be super difficult to find someone to date since Im a 36 year old woman, overweight and not conventionally attractive, and plus Im not sure how a man will react to my recent diagnosis of bipolar. I told the last guy I dated about my past breakdown (which I guess was a manic/depressive cycle), and he laughed and said I should never tell a guy that. He was also super controlling and manipulative, so not a super nice guy, so I guess Im still carrying baggage from that too. Anyway, Im in counseling but Im trying to figure out additional means of support and connection so I dont feel so lonely in all this. Any advice for how to handle feeling left behind as the single girl (who has just been labeled bipolar) would be much appreciated!
