...See more Today. And the power of today. I intended to be up at 6AM today. I avoided my phone. Drank some water. Stretched my arms & back. Prepped the coffee machine and organized the house while the coffee brewed. Hugged the wife then sat down with her while we had light early morning convos and drank our coffee together. Got into my gym outfit Brushed my hair & teeth And then I hit the gym. I've ended my work out feeling good and as we speak I am on the massage chair at the gym relaxing and mentally releasing with you all Moral : Be intentional with your hourly activities and try to be more in control of the flow of the day. You are all awesome Tell me what you did today? Maybe sharing it can inspire ideas to be more in control of things in a world that is becoming so fast paced and controlling of our everyday lives.

Stop Saying No To (Your Own) Authority

...See more First and foremost, this is an opinion and an approach that works for me. This is not me telling you what to do or belittling what you are going through or facing. The Question: "What am I feeling? Why am I angry? Why am I anxious? Why am I stressed?". There are so many questions we ask ourselves when negative emotions are present and sometimes even dominating their presence in our lives. If one is to ask themselves why? That is an amazing first step they have taken without even being aware that they have already taken a step towards a better tomorrow. But that is just the thing. Step number one is crucial, sadly... not enough. As difficult as it is to take the first step. Taking the second is far worse... and better yet, committing to it is even harder. We all tend to face our everyday struggles and our every emotions. We all know we are facing a certain kind of hardship. Some struggles can be a one hit wonder and some become quite unmentionably chronic in ourselves and daily lives. Regardless, step one is the recognition and self awareness that we are facing a certain emotion on a regular or nonregular basis. That being said, it is safe to say that being here on 7Cups (Represent!) is a form of self-recognition that something in our lives is off or not right. Then comes my personal favorite part. "Why & What am I facing?". Therefore, you begin to "Identify & Define your problem/struggle". As mentioned, a crucial step! But then what do we do with that? How do we go on from there? Before we go on... seriously... take a second and give yourself the appreciation of being here. It is a little voice inside you that brought you here to begin with. (Pat yourself on the back... yes... seriously do it... you deserve it). Authority:  We all want to feel better. We all want to wake up the next day feeling like yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery. My god life is short and we all know it. We all can still remember that one memory is 5-10-15 years and yet feels like yesterday. And speaking for myself... the struggle with positivity quite often makes me recall the past to relate to a better time, therefore I am VERY aware that time truly does hop! And it makes me upset that there are certain days, my negative emotions take the stronger leverage and make lose yet another day of what could have been a much brighter and memorial day for myself and my loved ones around me. Authority my friend, in this thread, relates to the unspoken ego inside us that pushes away from pursuing steps number 3,4,5, and onwards. It is a battle of self-authority VS self-discipline. Wanting to feel better and build a better tomorrow is not a choice. People love saying that don't they? Choose happiness! "Yeah... like I just chose wanting to feel miserable!". I never believed that happiness or positivity is or was a choice. I do firmly believe it is a battlefield. It takes a lot of energy and self-discipline to battle your way to a better and happier inner self. Getting up every morning with the determination and the discipline to take this journey and this battle another step forward is the one achievement and one victory you will value forever. Identifying the Problem: This practice works for me... Everyone can find their own process. I write this because sometimes we all need to start somewhere until we find our own way.  So how can one identify the problem? Inner-research & Evidence. In other words. I need something tangible. I need to SEE it. Feel it. Know exactly what I am dealing with. What better therapist than myself? Set up the right space and place. Treat yourself as though you were being treated. And be prepared to meet YOU. Sit somewhere nice. Set the right tempo. Tag along a little book. Maybe put on some instrumental music or simply let nature do it's thing. One can be amazed one the sound of nature can trigger in our minds.  Ease your brain and begin by visualizing your thoughts on paper. Whether you choose to write them, brainstorm them, draw them out. As long as you make them visual and in front of you. Bring out all your emotions as honestly as possible. Lay it all out in front of you. Everything you are struggling with. Everyone you are angry with. Everything you are trying to achieve. Everything that is bothering you. Just give yourself the time to reflect and really give your pen and paper a chance to do what they were made to do. There.... It is out there. It is out. It is all out. It is in front of you and trapped on a piece of paper. You are officially a step further. This is when you are allowed to take a breather. I honestly find it very comforting when the thoughts are untangled and laid out in front of me. It is impossible to untangle anything in the dark. Let alone untangling something you are unable to physically reach. It is bad enough our struggles weaken our minds, souls, spirits, and more. To untangle and calm or blurry brains and visions all within our mental weakness is not another one we can handle sometimes.  Analysis: Now that you have it all out there. We can get on with another set of important questions. Now it is time to continue the vision. Enhance your earlier visuals by asking the following questions. * What problem is more superior to the other? * What problem is controllable? * What problem is outside my control? * What problems am I causing? * What problems are others causing? * What can I remove today? * What can make my day better? * How do I want to wake up? * What do I want for myself? * What am I chasing? * How do I want to spend? And so many other questions. Giving these questions a visual will resolve so many things we are unable to mentally see and connect in our minds. But let us not forget the battle of self-discipline. Some people prefer a gym partner. Can a self-help partner be a thing? Sure it can!  Trimming the Fat (Negativity): I know it is difficult, friend. But on a personal note, it is so much easier knowing what can be eliminated or trimmed off your stress factor when you are able to see and visualize what you want and better yet, NEED to live without. Be it certain people, certain situations that you can approach differently, or certain problems that can be given solutions that were never in our scope of minds to begin with. I don't expect anyone to be able to solve it all on one go. Odds are our problems took weeks, months, or years to build up on our poor little backs and shoulders. Therefore it is not going to take one session of self-reflection to solve all our issues.  Once, twice, and as many times it will take. But eventually it is worth it. Just remember, you are more important than you think & more people give a *** about you than you know. Until next time my friend. Adios.

I have decided to move on.

...See more I have decided to move on. I do not know how. I am not even sure I am necessarily convinced. But if I do not, it will forever hold power on me. And that is the part I CAN control. Thus, I will not allow to control from here forth. I repeat. As of this morning, I had no idea how I will forgive and move on. But I must move on. And I think saying it out loud and repeating more than once is step number one. Maybe acknowledging what I need to do first will help subconsciously clarify step number 2. It is all about the little steps in life. I decided to move on I will move on.
