Bio
I have always believed that just like the mitochondrion is the powerhouse of the cell, the mind is the master of the body. Whenever there is something wrong with us physically, ranging from a headache to more severe ailments, we almost never neglect it. Yet, when we feel sad for extended periods of time or have disturbing thoughts or flashbacks that we cannot control, even if these things interfere greatly with our day-to-day productivity and functioning, we brush it under the carpet. India is the most depressed country in the world according to a recent research. Yet, the social stigma associated with mental illness is so strong that people fear even talking to someone or reaching out. Although the scenario has no doubt been improving of late, we still have a long way to go and it is, to a large extent, in the hands of our generation, the tomorrow of our country, to do our bit to bring about a change. I aspire strongly to play a small role in achieving this essential change.

I, by nature, feel that I am accepting, empathetic and genuinely understand the responsibility that a psychologist or therapist has to carry and feel that I want to readily render my help as much as possible. My friends tell me I'm a great listener. It is thus a skill I do not want to waste but develop and use for the well-being of others, to help someone. If there is one thing I can promise you, I will never judge you or make you feel inferior, ashamed or anything of the like. I will always listen in the true sense of the term, even if I do not know what to say to make you feel better. I will share and absorb your pain like a sponge and try to understand not only as a 3rd person but also your perspective.
