Bio

Hi everyone! The last bio I had was a bit too comedic which I think in retrospect was misleading and did not help people know me a bit more if they wish to refer to me.

I try and open up for all sorts of issues and problems so feel free to leave me a message if you ever need a listening ear. However, I think I do best in conversations about relationship/friendship/situationship/family problems, LGBTQ+ issues, ED related issues, addictions or just general life issues which are not really classified on here. I am male which some take into account the gender when on here I've come to learn.

If you're dealing with unpleasant flashbacks...

...See more 1. You should acknowledge the fact that you are having a flashback phase 2. Remind yourself that you are safe and not in danger despite the flashbacks 3. Own your right to have boundaries and say no. If something feels overwhelmingly triggering, step away. 4. Reassure your flashback self that it's okay - envision yourself from the past and tell that version of yourself that it is okay. Reparent yourself! 5. Understand that the flashbacks are time limited. They won't last forever 6. Remind yourself that you are in an adult body and not in the body which experienced those traumas 7. Ease back into your body through grounding exercises like deep breathing, scanning your body and tensing/relaxing each muscle group etc. 8. Resist the inner critic's/your brain's pessimistic scenarios like "there is no way to get over this". Recognise it is temporary 9. Allow yourself to grieve. Flashbacks often connect to unproccessed losses 10. Reach out to a safe person like a friend or somebody you trust 11. Identify your triggers - small cues like smells, voices etc. 12. Explore the root of your emotional flashbacks 13. Be patient with the process. ...See more Good afternoon everybody!! Earlier, I watched a video from Therapy in a Nutshell (a youtube channel which I strongly recommend!) and remembered about Emma's (the person running the channel) advice to list three things you are grateful for today. This has been scientifically proven to better our mental health and mood and I thought it would be a great thing to create a thread where we can share and exchange things we feel grateful for! Personally, I feel gratitude for; 1. The weather outside. It is amazing to be able to experience the natural phenomena in all of its glory from the sunny days to the rainy ones. 2. Having shelter and a roof above my head. This is a privilege people often take for granted and assume it is automatic in the Western side of the world, but there are sooo many people out there who do not have this unfortunately. 3. I feel grateful for being able to fuel my body with delicious food and water of all temperatures which are safe for use and consumption! What are you guys feeling grateful for today?

...See more Hi everybody! Today I thought we could do a little thread where we all say hi to one another and get to know each other if anybody wants to join You can introduce yourself however you feel comfortable; you can just say your name or tell us about some of your favourite hobbies or interests. Whatever suits you! I'll start: I'm Tomasz, I'm 20 soon to turn 21 (scaryyyy)! I've been active listening for about a few weeks now - some of you might have seen me around on the forum before. I looove going to the gym and watching reality television (yes it is my guilty pleasure).

Very kind and nice listener
He was extremely kind, mature, and thoughtful during our conversation. He listened carefully, suggested helpful ideas, and even followed up later to check on me. That level of care and consideration really meant a lot. I’m genuinely grateful for his support.
