Best way to work on building will power

...See more Hello, just got into the website. I'm 17, I'm in the summer that divides high school and college and I'm having a big issue with believing I can truly succeed in college if I struggled (or barely passed) in high school. Four years ago (freshman year) when I was in football for a week after I (like most things) quit because I got scared of letting everybody down I had a sense of self confidence that if I wanted something I could get it. Now obviously it was undeserving, I had quit, but the fact that I had gained self confidence in that mere week that lasted a couple months having myself talk to people I would get shy in front of or stay after class when I would usually just go home to play video games, it makes me regret not continuing. I have 9 days before I go to college, there isn't much I can do but I can still do something. What could I do to build my willpower "muscles" so that maybe I can build the self confidence I had four years ago. I feel like it's a keystone issue, if I build the willpower, I can force myself to do assignments, pursue my goal on losing 50 pounds (I lost 20 pounds out of 60 but gained 10 pounds back) Sorry that this is very long I lose myself when I type freely.
