Best way to work on building will power

Hello, just got into the website. I'm 17, I'm in the summer that divides high school and college and I'm having a big issue with believing I can truly succeed in college if I struggled (or barely passed) in high school. Four years ago (freshman year) when I was in football for a week after I (like most things) quit because I got scared of letting everybody down I had a sense of self confidence that if I wanted something I could get it. Now obviously it was undeserving, I had quit, but the fact that I had gained self confidence in that mere week that lasted a couple months having myself talk to people I would get shy in front of or stay after class when I would usually just go home to play video games, it makes me regret not continuing. I have 9 days before I go to college, there isn't much I can do but I can still do something. What could I do to build my willpower "muscles" so that maybe I can build the self confidence I had four years ago. I feel like it's a keystone issue, if I build the willpower, I can force myself to do assignments, pursue my goal on losing 50 pounds (I lost 20 pounds out of 60 but gained 10 pounds back) Sorry that this is very long I lose myself when I type freely.

@TeoII

Hey there!

Thats okay, you type away, I don't mind reading your writings at all, that's why the support forums are here in the first place.

I can totally understand how scary the transition is starting a new college year, all those new faces, preparing to make new friendship foundations, not to mention all the classes, so I hear you loud and clear.

I guess if I were in you shoes, I'd probably focus on the things that make me happy, the activities I'm naturally good at which I feel confident in, and build on this, perhaps think of some interesting topic conversations which your also comfortable talking about, maybe new film releases, or Netflix drama, video games which you have already mentioned, you know yourself, conversation is a two way thing, so once you actually start talking to someone, the conversation starts to flow.

I wish you the very best of luck, once your there, things will become eaiser rather than over thinking with anticipation.

Take care
