Repressed Sexual Assault Memories?

...See more Please bare with me hear, this is my first post, and it may be a tad bit longer because of the nature of this question. About 2 years ago, someone I love who was close to me was arrested for molesting a few minors who were in my life as a child/younger adult. I lived with this person for over a year, and didn't think much happened to me until more recently. I had been experiencing severe problems with my mental health for over a year before this crossed my mind. However, since I've gotten a bit better, I've looked at my childhood and adulthood and realized I have a frighteningly high amount of the warning signs for being abused. Without going into too much detail (basic things), I have huge gaps in my memory (including when I lived with this person), and have really weird feelings around sex. Even as a really young child, I exhibited weird behaviors. I also have had many nightmares about being raped or sexually assaulted, recently and a few years old. So, the bottom line and my questions are as follows (anything is helpful): 1) I am scared to try and actually "uncover" any memories if they're actually there. Should I try? Or just work through everything without all of this? 2) Does this sounds like what anyone else has experienced? I'm comfortable giving more detail, just ask. 3) Should I tell my family if anything did ever happen? They seem mad enough with the trial alone. Thank you all so much in advance! And I am talking to my therapist about this for the record, just wanted some other opinions and advice. :)
