making friends online with bad social anxiety and i have no idea how to talk to people

...See more for the last 4-5 years I have had very few friends and whenever I try to meet new people or do something involving social interaction (for me this is mostly video games) I get pretty bad anxiety, and this is an issue because I want to do those things but whenever a try my anxiety gets so bad it's very hard to just do it.  despite this about two years ago I made it into a dnd group with people around my age and have met with them pretty regularly each week however outside of playing i have a lot of trouble talking to them or hanging out with them in *** without an explicit invite. recently the anxiety has been a bit issue because I want to join a game based on roleplay which is mostly social interaction and improve though I guess my issue is going into a large server with strangers. im not sure if this is the right place to post this or even the point in posting but I'm doing it anyway.
