I feel a relapse coming on
Eating Disorder Support / by achickenugget

...See more In January of this year, I decided it was time to recover ( diagnosed with anorexia b/p subtype). I started seeing a therapist and I was really making progress with her. I put on a little bit of weight, started incorporating fear foods into my diet, etc Last month, my insurance cut off my sessions with her. I was supposed to start outpatient as well, but again, insurance wouldn't cover it. I was doing pretty well initially by using some of the coping skills she taught me, but lately I've felt really down, discouraged, and kind of lost without her. Since I have autoimmune disorders and other health issues, my therapist suggested it was best to tell my doctors about my eating disorder. Not one of them took me seriously it seemed. They all brushed it off and made me feel invalidated. I'm underweight, but I guess not to the point where I'm of any concern to them. With little support from family and my doctors making me feel like I don't even have a problem, I feel like I have something to prove if that makes sense. I just want to be taken seriously. I'm getting married in October and will be switching insurances soon so trying to get a new therapist is pointless right now. What are some things you guys do when you're feeling down? I can't seem get out of this mindset right now even when I think of all the positive things recovery will bring.
