Im Kinda Confused
Disability Support / by asianartist

...See more Hello! I'm Joanne, I'm 15, and I was diagnosed with chronic migrained almost ten months ago. I've had it since I was 12, but it took an unnecessarily long time to get diagnosed. I've never liked labeling myself as anything, it created unnecessary confusion and stigma for me, but I realise I need to know if this counts as a disability and to know whether I can be labeled as disabled or not. I know it seems like an easy answer, but every time I look it up it gets more confusing. The internet says it CAN count as a disability but isn't inherently one, which just made me feel... more confused? I'm on medication and I get migraines around 20 days a month. They're not always that bad but when they are I can't seem to get up from bed and tend to just stay asleep all day. I have a lot of side effects (light/sound/scent sensitivity, dizziness, nausea, random pains in the ear and eye, fatigue, etc) that make it harder for me to live normally. My doctor said I'm at risk of fainting and vomiting but I've never actually fainted in my life and I haven't vomited since I turned 11, I believe. I've had to quit a couple of things I used to like because of my migraines and my migraines haven't been getting better. I think this counts as a disability but there's still a voice in my head telling me it isn't and that I'm invading disability spaces for no reason. Am I right about this being a disability or..? Thank you!

What Do I Do?

...See more TW: pedophilia, possible sexual harassment When i was 11, my aunt's husband seemed really friendly and I didn't mind hanging out with him. One day he pulled me next to him, and even though I was uncomfortable I didn't say anything. He quite literally squished me next to him and carressed my thigh as he asked me about my private life and age. I didn't understand what was going on other than that I wanted to get out of there. My aunt was there but didn't do anything. I was only pulled away by my sister when she noticed and we didn't speak a word about it. I haven't told anyone. I experienced pedophilic stares but was never actually touched. I brushed it off bc i wasnt sure it was pedophilic and i never actually said no but now I can't look at him without wanting to throw up. I don't want to label it as sexual assault but I don't know what it is then. Is it sexual assault? Is it not? I still can't fully wrap my head around what happened years later. I just feel angry and hopeless. Also, how do I tell my mom? She's gonna make me cover up more than she already does, I won't be allowed to visit my cousins, and I know she'll get mad because I've spent years without telling her. I feel so afraid and alone and talking to my sister won't help because we have a rocky relationship. I can't keep hiding this because I always see him in family gatherings. please remember im still a teen and still confused. i've barely given myself time to process this all.

How Do I Talk About My Selfharm?
Self-Harm Recovery / by asianartist

...See more In about two weeks, Id officially be a selfharmer for an entire year, and its not a title i hold with honor. ive tried quitting, but its genuinely really difficult. i want to tell people about it. my mom needs to know so she can take me to a psychiatrist which shes been avoiding doing because she thinks im just sensitive. my doctor needs to know because hes making me take antidepressants because they help with my chronic migraines, but theyre making my suicidal ideation and self harm urges increase. my therapist needs to know because i seriously need someone to talk to about this. but every time i try to talk it feels as if the words are stuck in my throat. i tried practising, i tried thinking of how much good it would do for me, but its pretty much failed, and every single time i fail, i end up angry at myself. what can i do? how can i talk to people about this?
