...See more Hey there, I'm new. Just turned 50 in April. Lost my mom in March. Have a typical story, 2 kids, divorced, abused by ex. However, I feel like I wasted my whole life. Always lived by the golden rule and looked after everyone except myself. I never put myself first and now it's too late to live my dreams. They weren't big dreams of Hollywood, just to get out of this shit hole town and spread my wings. Now, as I reflect on my life I have so much regret. I wish I could tell my younger self to just gooo! Run! Don't worry about your over protective mom....it's your life not hers. Is this a midlife crisis? I don't know?? But it's a real hard pill to swallow. I can't believe I'm 50 and I'm still here and still can't leave due to kids. I have to be a good mom, obviously. But my heart is empty and full of what if's. Then I look in the mirror and that young beautiful girl is gone. I see an older version of a sad woman who always did for everyone else and wasted my hopes and dreams. I hate my 50's. It's another reminder of all the years I missed by not putting myself first.
