Difficult Diagnosis - congenital uterine abnormality

...See more This is the first time I’ve posted on here but I’ve received a diagnosis I was not expecting and wondering if anyone else has been though the same thing. Yesterday, I under went a laparoscopy to diagnose endometriosis. All of my symptoms were pointing to this, both my mum and sister had it and the doctors were sure this was the problem. After waking from surgery, I was told there’s no sign of endometriosis (what an incredible result) but I do have a congenital uterine abnormality. This is when your womb isn’t a normal shape. I’m still waiting for my follow up to find out exactly type I have. The surgeon showed me a picture and I have 2 ovaries, 2 tubes but my left side is blocked and I have about half/ 2/3 of normal space. This was far from the diagnosis I was expecting! The first question I asked was “can I have children?” He said, “it will be take longer to conceive.” I feel crushed! All I’ve ever wanted is children and every time I get seen there’s another issue where my womb isn’t normal. They found issues with my cervix that usually show in endo patients but I have no answers for mine. I have extremely painful periods, and now it’s just something I will have to live with because I have them due to the shape of my womb. I’m now terrified to start my trying to get pregnant journey as it could take years of pain and heartache. I feel completely lost. Has anyone has a similar experience and share what they did to cope with a difficult diagnosis? much love and kindness
