...See more Mom has cancer. She is just 54 years old, diagnosed last summer. Everything I read online says it has poor prognosis. I live with her so I can see how much the disease and chemo has taken a toll on her. She plans to fight it. I feel so sad for her that she is so young. I don’t know if it would’ve been any easier to swallow if she was older. I get random waves of sadness when I try to unwind at the end of the day. My body is almost trying to anticipate the grief. My mom is a beautiful person and the disease has sucked the energy out of her.

...See more My 54-55 year old mom has metastatic ovarian cancer. The prognosis for these types of cancer is so poor. She is getting chemo but even then, most of these cancer recur within the first 2 years and then eventually is terminal pretty past. Cancer is the worst. It upends the world upside down and keeps everything in limbo. Not just for the person with cancer but also the family and caregivers. I am a 31 year old male and I work as a doctor. My mom’s diagnosis is affecting the energy I can bring to my patients and my profession. I feel like other people can probably sense that I am depressed even when I try to put up a smiley, social front. The thought of losing my mom, I can’t simply overcome that…
