Relationship Stress / by brightCoconut99

...See more My boyfriend and I broke up a few months ago, it was extremely tough on me. I was deeply involved with this guy, and must admit the relationship put me in an unhealthy mental state. I feel so much better now being out of the relationship, however: my closest friend, also my roommate, is best friends with my ex. They have been talking and have started hanging out again. I keep imagining them hanging out in our apartment when I am not there, laughing and having a grand old time...then me walking in and not knowing how to react. I know I am overreacting, and I know it is foolish getting in the way of the strong friendship these two have....yet I am still deeply upset and hurt that it is happening. I know it is my issue, I haven't healed, and I owe myself time to do so. But I live with my best friend. How am I to get away? Part of me just wants to stop sharing personal information with her, but I fear that's an attention seeking behavior. Any help would be appreciated, I am hurting over here.

Friend is Hurt

...See more So my boyfriend broke up with me two weeks ago and I am absolutely devastated.  I told two of my closest friends and my parents about it and that is it.  I am still in shock and I think I am still trying to grasp it....I find it hard to talk about with people I THINK because talking about it makes it real, and I just generally feel super self-conscious about it.  Anyway, an old roommate of mine asked me to go to a show on campus that my recent ex would be at and I could only give a flat no.  I then told her it was because we had broken up and she was really shocked, then asked when it had happened.  I told her 2 weeks and then she got upset that I hadn't told her despite the amount of time passing.  Before she walked out and slammed my door, I told her it was hard for me to talk about.  I understand it hurts when friends don't let you in, but this was something I wasn't comfortable sharing yet.  I know she was going to find out eventually, so why delay tellling her and other people right?  It made me feel really bad that I didn't tell her, but I also think I shouldn't have to feel bad for not wanting to share this information so soon?  Anyone have experience with this, or other perspectives they could share?  I just feel so confused and trying to look out for myself but I also don't want to be hurting other people when it could be avoided
