Deafness and Nerve Damage Seeking Support
Disability Support / by calmMango664

...See more Hello, first time here. Just made an account. Not sure if I'm doing this right but here goes. So I have Meniere's Disease. I'm only 28. And it started a few years ago. At first it was just diagnosed as SSNHL. Fast forward 2 years and I had my hearing worsen with strong episodes of dizziness. Now I was diagnosed with Meniere's. Fast forward another year and my hearing decreases again. This time the dizziness doesn't go away. It comes back every day or every other day if I'm lucky. I go get more tests done. Turns out Meniere's explains the dizziness and hearing loss. But dizziness is compounded further to a frequent debilitating suffering due to severe Vestibular Nerve damage. I recently got broken up with an abandoned in a 10 year relationship for another guy whom I found in the house (you can interpret what that means for yourself... Anywho...). The stress and emotions have been taxing in me. While my drops in hearing occurred in the past... Every since my hearing starting failing, I had maybe 3 episodes. Ever since I felt betrayed and hurt, in the span of 3 month.. My hearing has dropped 4+ times. I'm scared to even go back to the doctor to find it dropped again. My hearing aid.. Just seems to fail me nowadays because of the amount it keeps failing every single week or two. My dizziness is getting worse. (Continuing this in a reply since I'm out of characters)

Self-Harm Recovery / by calmMango664

...See more Hello. Idk if there's a proper way to do this but hi. I am 28 years old and have medical problems that affect my day-to-day living. I'm also deaf in an ear as an added bonus. I recently got out of a recent relationship and I was dumped for another guy. This relationship lasted 10 years and it's been tough. At first I cut myself whenever I felt overwhelming emotional pain. Then after being questioned about my wounds, I just started burning to give myself the physical pain. More recently, whenever I've been feeling stress, anxiety, or pain I've been scratching, even in public until they bleed. I have had a history of self harm before but got over it in the relationship I was in.. Now.. I feel alone. I don't have anyone to talk to and I.. I just like it. It feels like te ONLY outlet I have. It makes me smile and happy when I see the damage I've done to myself. When it's not enough damage, I want to do more. Idk what to do. How to stop. I feel like it helps me get through the emotional distress each time or I just bawl my eyes out for hours with no outlet. *edited by forum mentor @rebecca947 to remove specific methods of self-harm.
