Could this be considered sexual assault?

...See more so me & my partner had sex a few days ago everything was perfect but then he got a bit rough/went deeper. It hurted a lot so I put my hands on his chest and pushed him a little and told him to slow down , and he did for a moment , but then he got back rough, I said his name this time, & told him to be gentle cause it hurts, and he pinned my arms down tightly, told me I'll be okay and to take it . After it was over, i had this intense cramp so he gave me meds and we cuddled . I just feel a little weird and wanted some advice, it's not rape but is it considered sexual assualt or just maybe bad communication/horrible listening skills?
