Things are heavy..
Grief & Loss / by creativeLime6103

...See more I don't know if this needs a trigger warning or not, so !TW! just incase. 12 years ago I saw my mom die. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to witness, and the look on her fave has "haunted" me since. She had a really aggressive type of cancer. I dropped out of school to help care for her, but she was gone only a couple of months after finding out about it. My life completely spiraled. I made bad decisions, cut everyone out of my life, and got with a severely abusive man. (Many life events between those but to keep a long story short, I'll leave it at that). Things have not been okay, at all. The only reason I'm still here is because I have two beautiful children I could never leave behind, not like that. I knew for a long time something needed to be done but I didn't have it in me to put on the efforts to get away, and finally grieve my mom. And all the relationships I had severed just trying to cope. Anyway, fast forward to this year, I graduated high school. I went back and got my diploma. I got a job that I love and I'm moving up quickly. I can see all the progress I've made, and I'm proud of myself. But things are so heavy still. I can't grieve, I don't know how.. I don't know how to describe it, but I'm always seeing the look on her face as she passed. When does it get easier? I don't like who I am anymore. I've gone through a lot of hurt and it definitely shows. Will I ever become more like I was or should I just accept the new me? I feel so lost. Thank you to anyone who stuck around.
