First time with a form of grief

...See more (Sorry for poor grammar, I’m crying and I’m about to go to bed.) I caught up with my ex after months, and he’s doing much better than before. He has a new friend group and wonderful things lined up in his future. I’m happy for him but honestly I’m just so incredibly and surprisingly sad that I’m not in his life anymore when we used to be so close. I know he’s growing up, and eventually that’s what we all have to do, but I’m just struggling and having a difficult time processing my feelings. I’ve never felt this way before, like this feeling of really losing something or being replaced. It’ll never be the same between us anymore, at least not for a while, until our paths in life may cross again. I’ve talked to my mentors and peers about it and they offered some helpful advice, but I just want to know what 7 cups users think about this. I just want to stop crying so much about this lol.
