Hey there! I'm Claire, and I'm a trained active listener here on 7 Cups of Tea. I'm so grateful you found me here!

I'm currently a student studying social work & women's/gender studies. I hope to work with children & young adults in the future, possibly in a school setting or a private practice. As of Summer 2015, I'll be working at a domestic violence shelter & a center for grieving children. I recognize the importance of feeling supported and cared for and I am here to offer that to you in any way I can.

I love movies, rainy weather, good cups of coffee, and thoughtful conversation. I love airports and traveling and my dog Sam is my best friend. I like to read when I get the chance and I'm a Netflix fiend.

I have my own extensive trauma history; I have personal experience with domestic violence, emotional and physical abuse, sexual trauma, parents with chronic illnesses, eating disorders, anxiety, PTSD, depression, and therapy/counseling. A very deep level of empathy and understanding, and I was completely comfortable in opening up (which I'm not very often). We discussed a few things I could do for self-care, and ways to seek support from people around me, which I feel like I'm now ready to try. Thank you so much Claire! :)
