7 months without my grandad

...See more 7 months ago, on the 10th april 2025, i lost my grandad, the person closet and most dearest to me. 2 weeks prior to that we found out he had cancer in the spine and there was nothing nobody could do, we was then told he had a month-2 weeks left to live. i wish i was prepared, but nothing can prepare you for that. i remember getting a call and being brought to my grandads house, once getting there i was told he was gone, they then took me to see him. i cannot get the image of him lifeless out of my head to this day, everytime i close my eyes, it is there. i still feel lost, upset and cry everyday. yesterday was his birthday and everything came back to me and hit me 10 times harder. everybody tells me that it will get better and the grief will pass, but it isn’t and i cannot cope with it anymore this feeling is awful and nobody understands me, not even my own family. people tell me “it’s been 7 months get over it” but i can’t, i never will i was so close to him and i wish i got to spend more time with him before he passed. i am only 17 and feel like this is destroying my whole life and this image of him will haunt me forever.
