How Do I Tell My Parents? *trigger warning*

...See more I was sexually assaulted a year and a half ago at a graduation party two days before graduation. For a long time I blamed myself and only recently have I come to terms that it wasn't my fault but I still have anxiety and flashbacks. I can barely pump gas by myself without freaking out when there are men at the next pump. All this time later my anxiety has been absolutely terrible and I think I'm ready to tell but I'm scared because they might think it's my fault. I've been taught what precautions to take and I didnt. Plus my dad, who was a cop for 20yrs, is probably going to want me to press charges and idk if I want to. I know it sounds dumb but if I did he would be labled as a sex offender for the rest of his life, and tbh I dont think he knows he did anything wrong to this day. I've only told one of my friends (when it happened) and my older sister 3 weeks ago but neither know who he was. How do I tell my parents without me having a panic attack or them wanting to press charges or ask for details I'm still not ready to give? Some days I'm convinced I'll tell them then the next change my mind. Idk what to do.
