Think I might be depressed and I need some advice on how to deal with my feelings

...See more Since roughly around December of 2019 I've just felt like something was always off and there's always something in my life that is missing. Even if I'm happy with everything going on at that time. I feel sad all the time, I have no motivation or energy, I'm so irreatble, I've practically given up on my school work because I don't see the point because I feel like i'm going to fail regardless. No matter what I do that feeling of sadness is always there and it won't go away, my mind is so fogged up with negative thoughts that's its hard to even think rationally. I have been previously diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and I think because of the long struggle and little improvement I've given up on a lot of hope (I've been in therapy for ages and i don't plan on stopping, but I can't see my therapist because of quarantine) . Also anxiety and depression tend to come hand in hand unfortunately. I'm also constantly trying to support my friends, but I don't always have the right advice to give them. I feel like quarantine is also getting to my friends too because they're getting in arguments pretty often and I'm always stuck in the middle of it all because I don't want to take sides. I've started to feel guilty about asking for help because I know there are much bigger problems and I don't want to burden others, so I turned here. If anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated. :) (sorry this is so long, I just really needed to get this stuff out)

Internalised homophobia?

...See more So ever since i figured out that i wasn't straight there was always a part of me that hated who i really am. I don't often tell others about it because it seems so silly, i have really supportive people in my life. Even with all the support around me i secretly just wish i was straight, i don't really know why too. I have thought before that maybe if i just act straight it will eventually make me straight. Sometimes i will look at myself in the mirror and just think 'ew i look like such a **insert homophobic slur**' of course i hate slurs and i would never use them to describe anyone else but sometimes it is genuinely the way that i feel about myself. I don't know if this is internalised homophobia or not but if anyone has any advice on not hating your sexuality that would be much appreciated :)

Had a bit of a breakdown today

...See more Hi, so recently I've been stressed due to feeling like I'm out of control of what's going on in my life. I've also judt been feeling pretty anxious anyway, i was dealing with it pretty well up until today. I had just had lunch and i suddenly felt panicy and anxious, so i ran up to my room where i had a panic attack. I suddenly thought about how much everyone hated me and how unlovable i was, and i convinced myself that everyone was lying to me about liking me. I messaged my friend basically telling her that i was stressed out about something and i wanted to distract myself, i didn't want to tell her what was actually going on though out of fear that she would think i was even more stupid than i already was so i just diverted the conversation elsewhere. I know that I'm thinking negatively because of my anxiety but at the same time i believe what my head tells me and i can't stop believing it. I also don't know how to stop believing it, I've tried looking in the mirror and saying good things about myself (e.g. You look nice today) , but it just feels like blatant lies. I don't really know what the perpose of this post was, i just want to tell someone how I'm feeling without my mind telling me that they don't want to be talking to me. TLDR: i had a bit of a breakdown today but i feel like i can't tell people out of fear of them hating me more than i already think they do.

Anxiety and friendships

...See more Hi everyone, so i was diagnosed with GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) and social anxiety about a year ago but i have been struggling for roughly 3 years. I have a lovley friend group but i am constantly worried that i am pushing them away. I know that things like that generally tend to happen to people with mental health issues as the friends don't want to be around negativity all the time. I try to be as positive and optimistic as i can but its really difficult when my anxiety won't leave me alone. I also can't tell if people genuinely don't want to talk to me or if its just the anxiety messing with my head. For example when i say something on a group chat the conversation seems to die pretty quickly after i start talking, almost as if people thought 'nope don't want to talk to them' and left. I just constantly feel like a burden on others and even with reassurance from others that they don't dislike me, my brain still tells me otherwise. Does anyone have any tips for managing these thoughts?
