Is it normal for my ex's mother to try to keep a really close relationship with me?

...See more Ok, I need some advice. My ex and I have been apart for about 5 months now. Him and I have a young son together. The issue that is happening is that his mother expect to have a really close relationship with me. She expects me to want to go shopping, do lunch etc. and this makes me uncomfortable since I am trying to move forward. Her ex and I have 50/50 custody arrangement so she still gets to see my son. Is it typical for an ex's mother to want to continue up a close friendship. I have tried to get my space from her, by not initiating contact, but she will either text or call me. She has even sought me out on social media. I am just wondering is this typical and what is the best way to handle this situation. I have told her that I need my space and she just goes on about how we have a history together and she enjoys me and cares for me.
