Struggling to cope with irrational fears..

...See more I really thought I had my anxiety under control for the past few weeks, but all of a sudden my fear of having something wrong with me, and dying, has come back. It's making me feel nauseous and is really debilitating, I'm not sure I can go into uni tomorrow feeling like this. I practiced some yoga and took my propranolol but I still can't get these thoughts out my mind. I'm booked to see a counsellor in about a month, but I need help sooner. Any advice? I can't really afford to be off because of this again.

What I've learned so far..

...See more I'm on step 20 of my growth path, and while I'm still struggling with my anxiety and hypochondria, I'm learning to do the things I love without worrying, if only for short periods of time. I've taken up yoga, because it makes me feel so good about myself at the end of each routine, and that's exactly what I need. I also socialised with my friends for the first time in weeks on Tuesday. I've also tried to stop avoiding places where my anxiety is worse, like uni and restaurants. It's still so difficult to be calm when I'm sitting on the train or in a lecture, but I try to focus on my breathing. I'm going to another doctor tomorrow because I chickened out of going a few weeks ago. I've written a list for her to read, as I get upset talking about my anxiety. Any other tips as to what I should do to prepare for my appointment would be great though!

What I learned from my first day with 7cups.

...See more So, last night I was in my flat on my own, and felt the feeling of fear and panic creeping up on me. When the attack finally hit, I couldn't stop crying because I felt truly alone on the world. I started trawling the Internet, looking for places I could get help, and eventually came across 7cups. I loved the idea of embarking on a Growth Path, and felt like it might help me (as well as going to see my GP later on today). So far I've learned that talking to someone is the best way I can start to tackle my anxiety, and that my worries are real to me, and people who care about me will see that and not think I'm silly.
