Good ways to avoid overwhelming loved ones?

...See more I have realized that when i am depressed I often end up unintentionally hurting my loved ones. I have a very small trusted circle of family and friends to draw support from. I don't want to isolate myself when i feel sad and lonely, but I also don't want to overwhelm others, drag them down, or lash out at them. I feel that I sometimes need more attention, reassurance, and patience than they are able to give. Does anyone have ideas about how to find a balance between drawing support from others and respecting their needs, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing?
