...See more I am a straight woman who’s from a Christian family. I met a woman who I have been chatting with at an art event. She’s a single mom in her 30s and I am single in my late twenties with no kids. She and I both love art galleries and read books. I felt an attraction to her, like the thought of what it would be like kissing her. I’ve always had feelings for men and this is my first time having feelings for a woman. I have never been in love with a woman before, so this feels new to me. I think I am bi curious. I know I can explore to see how the relationship goes between us. It’s just that I don’t know if our relationship should be long and short term. She’s also a single parent, so that will be a challenge for time between us. It just feels new to me and I feel excited and terrified at the same time. I don’t know how this new relationship will progress depending on how much time we spend together. My parents are Christian. I am still trying to figure out through this new date if I’m bisexual or bi curious or just infatuated with a fantasy and really just straight. Her and I are supposed to have our date in a few months. This just feels new to me.

...See more Hi, A lot earlier today, I made a post about wanting to have an affair. I realized how foolish I was for contemplating doing something that would cause social problems for the married man I would have an affair with and for my own reputation along with my family’s reputations. I walked away from the fantasy ending it for good. Yet, I am still reeling from dealing with being a single woman. I have 2 college degrees and I work a full time job. I was with a man who had great qualities, but he made it clear that while he was flattered with my feelings for him, he said he enjoyed the single life and the freedoms that came with it. I understood him. Then, a few months later, he told me he met someone and they became a couple. I was happy for him, don’t get me wrong. We originally didn’t work out because of differences between us. He worked a long job and I was a Monday through Friday shift kind of woman. He has a career established and I still don’t know what I want in a career despite working in a office job with great benefits. I felt no reason to keep in touch and be friends with him because it was clear he was moving on with his new life with his new gf. I miss him every now and then but I know he’s with someone who makes him happy. I fantasized being a mistress after reading historical fiction stories and watching historical narrations of different mistresses in the Gilded Age. I felt intrigued learning more about them. The stories entertained me when I would feel bored. I also started fantasizing about being a mistress due to my own personal life. I grew up with two parents unhappily married. I went through 2 bad relationships from high school and college. I learned a lot from my dating mistakes and know how to address red flags in dating. I come from a religious background. I used to look at religious couples as completely different or abstract. I just saw single Christian men as absolutely weird since they had their own rules they followed with the Bible commandments. I remember being at a women’s church function and there was this discussion about how they knew they wanted to be wives and mothers. They said they would think and dream about it and now that they have these achievements, they are dealing with their own personal lives but say they wouldn’t have it any other way. I see their love and happiness they have in their families. I kept my opinion to myself and knew I didn’t want to be a mother and I didn’t want to be a wife either. I saw having kids as something I didn’t want to do. I still don’t want to be a mother. I love children and I care about issues involving kids. I still don’t desire to have them though. I will not even hold a baby because I don’t want to be labeled as “a new mother”. I saw marriage as something that I never wanted to happen. I still have mixed feelings though because my life as a wife would be a lot different than my parents’ marriage. I have a friend who told me my parents are going through their own journey and I am going through my own journey. My parents are great as parents.  I still read romance novels where there’s a happy ending. Yet, I knew the difference between fiction and reality. I know marriage takes hard work with the right person and a lot of maturity to be a successful cooperative team. I know that divorce can be a good thing if a marriage has never been happy so that both sides can find new love and happiness by themselves and with new loved partners. I know everyone has their own problems they have to deal with and not everyone is perfect. I find myself bored despite watching tv and movies and reading books. I know I should get a friend group. I know exercising helps with anxiety. I just feel this need to want to have excitement and still feel the intimate connection. I know I’m not ready to be in a relationship since I’m dealing with my own insecurities. There’s still that need to be with someone. I’m trying to break down my self guarded feelings about dating and marriage. I want to be a better person.

Having an affair

...See more I have been feeling bored and I started entertaining a fantasy about having an affair with a married man. I met one married man who seemed nice and had good qualities I was looking for in a man. Part of me wanted to go through with the affair and part of me didn’t. I was looking for excitement and even the married man I met asked me since I was single, why didn’t I seek out a single guy? I responded that I’ve been through enough dating situations with single men. I wasn’t looking for anything long term. I want a short term romance and having a married man would give me excitement. Plans would be made and we would enjoy the time we have together. Part of me still feels like being with a married man could be detrimental to his family, even though I would make it clear I don’t want him to leave his family for me. Part of me worries about being caught, yet part of me doesn’t care. I guess it has to do with exploring what being a mistress is like.

...See more My friend, who is also my crush, has got a gf. They started dating 2-3 weeks ago. I am happy he’s found someone, but I can’t help feeling jealous. I keep seeing people get into relationships and I feel somewhat left out. I’m single and I should enjoy it. Part of me feels glad I’m single and I don’t have to deal with drama in a relationship. I think it’s the human side that makes me want a human connection. I’ve tried online dating, but no luck. I deleted my social media accounts because I got tired of seeing people posting about their dating stories. I know I shouldn’t be biased. I did follow single people, but I mostly kept seeing people celebrating their relationships. Deleting my social media accounts felt freeing, yet I feel like everyone is in their own little world. For instance, I went to the bookstore a few days ago and met a cute guy and talked with him. He seemed nice until his gf showed up and I introduced myself and she seemed nice. I was a little deflated, but glad I got to meet nice people. I work in an office and I live with my parents. I have a car and I’m still working on my driving skills. I have dental problems. My room is moderately messy, yet I still take the time to clean. I have dental issues. In short, I deal with my own problems. Part of me longs for a relationship so I don’t feel bored anymore. But I know every romantic relationship has its own challenges and obstacles to overcome. I want to uphold the principle of being “alone doesn’t necessarily mean being lonely.”

...See more I met my bf 2 weeks ago on a dating site. We talk about what intimacy boundary we would be doing and so far, it’s like external touch intimacy way. Part of me wants to stay true to God but part of me wants to have a little more physical touch but I don’t want to sin against him.

...See more I started going on online dates. There’s this one guy who seems to be charismatic and we’re planning to meet up in a few months. He’s a medical salesman. I’m an office technician for a state agency. He says that I’m beautiful and he’s from South Carolina. We love food a lot and he’s very active and into golf. He says he loves talking to me and wishes he could hug me. I see that as sweet. We did talk about when we meet up about going to a cool restaurant, kissing, and cuddling. He started talking about touching and I’m thinking he wants to get physical at one point. I want to tell him that I don’t want to be physical, but I don’t want him to lose interest in me. I know I should set a boundary, but I don’t know how to do that.

...See more I have been in love with my friend and we’ve known each other for 2 months. I confessed my feelings for him and he said he’s not sure he wants to be in a relationship. Fast forward, we start talking and I still grew feelings for him. He said I should look for a bf who has the same faith in God as I do. He’s agnostic after disassociation from Catholicism. He said that I have so much love to give someone that someone else would love me back and have the same faith as me. I still talk to my friend and I have this small hope that we’ll end up together. I know it’s wishful thinking since I’m a Christian and I have been romanticizing him. I read tons of romance novels and watch a lot of romance media. I had a few toxic relationships that I wished I never got into. I was single for 10 years and started online dating and befriended my friend. I was impressed with his amazing qualities: successful job, loving his career, hyper independent, balanced work and leisure time, good group of friends, kind, caring, and a democrat. I’m also a democrat and that’s why I love him. There’s a lot of people from my church and I’ve noticed there are Christian guys that are full on trump supporters or Charlie Kirk followers. I know this doesn’t make a good excuse for excluding Christian dating, but I know what I’m up against when it comes to seeing a man’s true associations. I told my friend and he acknowledges my hesitancy about dating men in my religion. I do want to have a relationship, but I’m not going to be with a Christian man that aligns with Trump or any Christian nationalist values. I went on social media and thought I liked some Christian guys I thought were cute and potential dating partners, but their inner social circle was full on Trump supporters and I immediately turned away from them. There’s a chapter I’m working on in my women’s ministry at my church about not feeling provided for from God. I feel like I want to have a romantic relationship because I’m tired of being bored as a single woman. I know that God works in ways to help people. I know that God listens to my heart and knows what I want and his timing is perfect. I know there’s benefits to being single and I know there’s the phrase “alone doesn’t mean lonely”. I just desire to be hugged and kissed and being happy with someone. I live with my parents, so I’ve never lived on my own. Maybe if I work my way towards getting an apartment then I’ll see what independence looks like. I’m just tired of being single and being bored. I still have the hope that my friend will be a Christian one day so we could live happily ever after and get married. But I know that is wishful thinking. I still have romantic feelings for my friend and I still want to be with him.

...See more I am wondering why I feel disconnected from my bf. He’s kind and understanding and caring. He has a successful job that he loves. I feel like I get annoyed when he makes jokes or side humor despite his kindness. I do like him and he’s a great listener. But sometimes I wonder if I still love my bf despite his humorous personality. I’m quiet and reserved and he’s extroverted. When we hang out, I do love his personality. I just don’t know why I don’t like his humor style sometimes.
