Resilience
IDG 7 Cups Hub / by inesllorens

...See more Something that stuck with me in the guide is resilience or the ability to move forward and keep going even when we are in pain, stressed, disappointed, upset, ... I think resilience sometimes gets misunderstood, with people looking at it as never struggling or failing while instead, failure and struggle are central to resilience, especially facing them and growing from them. It is also not a weakness but a strength to ask for help and be able to receive support from others when needed, letting social support guide you thorugh difficult times.  In the most difficult times of my life is indeed when I have learnt the most. It can feel almost impossible to overcome certain things but once you realize you can overcome those difficult things, you feel like you can almost overcome anything. And it is important to sit with these difficult times and learn from them and observe how you act trying to learn how to become better at confronting hard things.  To become more resilient I always encourage positive talk, always reassuring oneself that we can achieve the impossible instead of having limiting beliefs telling ourselves we are not capable of something.  The questions I would like to suggest for discussion are 1. What does resilience particularly mean to you? 2. what is something that has made you more resilient?

The importance of self-awareness
IDG 7 Cups Hub / by inesllorens

...See more A skill that particularly spoke to me in this guide is self-awareness. I feel like sometimes we get caught up in accomplishing goals and just improving ourselves without never stopping, taking a step back and reflecting on who we are, who we want to become, what our strengths and weaknesses are... All while being honest with ourselves in the process.  I think this is a very important skill because without self-awareness, it is quite hard to make any meaningful change in our life, since we might not know in which areas we need to put more effort, and we cannot learn from the mistakes we may be making along the way. I think it's vital to know why we are acting certain ways rather than blindly trying to parch our mistakes without any thinking on what made us err.  One thing that helped me a lot is journaling and taking a more outsider perspective on my own life by looking at it written in a piece of paper. This has allowed me to see patterns in myself I wasn't even aware off and instead of judging them or looking at them with criticism, I've tried to be more kind towards myself and be compassionate and honest.  The prompts for discussion I'd like to share are: 1. What recent experience have you learnt from by being aware of how you acted and why you did so? 2. Do you think at some point we can be too aware of ourselves?
