Resilience
Something that stuck with me in the guide is resilience or the ability to move forward and keep going even when we are in pain, stressed, disappointed, upset, ... I think resilience sometimes gets misunderstood, with people looking at it as never struggling or failing while instead, failure and struggle are central to resilience, especially facing them and growing from them. It is also not a weakness but a strength to ask for help and be able to receive support from others when needed, letting social support guide you thorugh difficult times.
In the most difficult times of my life is indeed when I have learnt the most. It can feel almost impossible to overcome certain things but once you realize you can overcome those difficult things, you feel like you can almost overcome anything. And it is important to sit with these difficult times and learn from them and observe how you act trying to learn how to become better at confronting hard things.
To become more resilient I always encourage positive talk, always reassuring oneself that we can achieve the impossible instead of having limiting beliefs telling ourselves we are not capable of something.
The questions I would like to suggest for discussion are 1. What does resilience particularly mean to you? 2. what is something that has made you more resilient?
@inesllorens
Resilience for me is not pushing through.
Or making the best out of a bad situation.
It's nothing our limitations and giving our best anyway 🥰
Trying even when it's hard.
Learning how to walk again taught me resilience, gratitude and inner strength and to turn the hard times into lessons 🩷
@Amanda84 Perfect!
@inesllorens
Whate has made me more resilient is don't play God and try to fix the entire world, put everything on your shoulder, focus on what matters to myself and how I can assist others effectively without falling down.
@AsherTree That brings me to mind about the ego - it can be a vicious beast. Acceptance is key to keeping grounded. I agree!

@lyricalAngel70 It really does help to give away the control! :)

The questions I would like to suggest for discussion are 1. What does resilience particularly mean to you? Its when I tell myself "hey JG, things may not look great at the moment but it will be a big learning experience - time isnt running out!"
2. What is something that has made you more resilient? Keep thinking of God.
Resilience to me is the ability to admit that you are going through a tough time, and choosing to work through it and continue with life. Life can be incredibly hard and at times resilient can be the last thing any of us want to be, however resilience can be defined by so many things, it is resilent to ask for help, it is resilient to admit you are struggling, it is resilient to want to change even if you don’t know how! It’s a multi faceted part of being a human being, and we are all resilient in our own ways

I think resilience is being able to keep going without pretending that something didn’t hurt you. Sometimes you need to cry, take a step back, or let someone help you before you can move forward again. I also like what you said about looking back at how we handled difficult moments. There are things I’ve gone through that I thought would break me at the time, but now I can see they taught me things about myself that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise. And asking for help is probably one of the hardest parts of resilience for a lot of people.

This is such a powerful and important reminder! 🤍 Resilience isn’t about never feeling pain or struggle—it’s about keeping going, even when things are hard. It’s such a beautiful strength that helps us grow and keep moving forward. Thank you for sharing this! ✨

I really appreciate your perspective on resilience. 💛 I especially agree that resilience does not mean never struggling or failing, but learning and growing through those difficult experiences. For me, challenging situations have taught me patience, self-belief, and perseverance. I also think asking for help is an important part of resilience because we do not always have to face everything alone. 🌱
