Can’t move on from my best friend

...See more Me and my best friend were inseparable. We were ALWAYS talking. And our connection was so strong—we’ve never fought because we’re both so understanding of each other. But sometimes, because of their physical and mental health, they go MIA for days or weeks to prioritize themselves, which makes me worried and sad because I’m so attached, but understanding when they start responding to me again after all the time. But, something was different. Almost 2 whole months ago, my best friend completely stopped messaging me and has not sent me anything since. We called on the day they left but only for a little, because they had to rest to heal. So, I let them. But 2 weeks became 4 weeks, became 6, 8….and now I’m just in such distress. I don’t want to let my best friend go, and so many times I wish they could be back to witness my progress and my growth as a person, but I can’t accept this change, and I can’t even START to let them go. How do I deal with any of this???
